HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Hi friends!  Happy Tuesday!  I hope you are all doing well and enjoying the lovely spring weather we are having today, at least in CT.  :)

I've got a super simple birthday card to share with you all today using the Dotted Bursts backgound stamp and the Happy Birthday word die.  I love these two products together.

I stamped the background using Twilight ink and then used some red card stock I have in my stash to die cut the word die and for a layer behind the stamped piece.

These colors are more masculine colors and make me think of a masculine birthday, but you could very easily change up the colors and make it for your female friends.

IN THE JUNGLE BIRTHDAY SHAKER

Hi friends!  Did you see the new stencils Catherine has in her shop now?  She released them yesterday and I shared some clean & simple birthday cards using the So Curvy stencil and today I have a birthday shaker card using the In the Jungle stencil.  This stencil is gorgeous.  I sponged the edges with a bit of a heavier hand and lightened up in the center for a bit of contrast. 

I stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Happy Birthday Many Ways stamp set.  I love the font on this big sentiment.  I made my frame from the Chalkboard Frames dies (these are on sale until Sunday!).  I filled the shaker with sparkling clear seed beads and crater lake sequins.

So Curvy Stencil

In The Jungle

I used the new So curvy stencil on this one layer card!  I love this stencil and have lots of different ideas swimming around in my head on how to use this stencil.  Just not enough hours in a day.  I masked off a portion of the stencil to create a corner design.  I blended Pucker up and Chiffon and got a gorgeous orange color where the two colors blended together.

For this card, I switched the corner and blended using Fiesta Blue & Serenade!  I love having simple birthday cards in my stash ready to go when I need them.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Hi friends!  I've got another super simple birthday card using the gorgeous Peony Cover Plate die.  This would be super easy to mass produce, you could just change out the sentiment circle color or even just change the background card stock color.

I used the emboss resist technique on the sentiment circle adding a bit of gradient effect.

BLESSED EVEN IN THE MIDST OF THE STORM

Hi friends!  I've got a colorful card using bright spring colors to share today using the Abundantly Blessed Sentiments & the Just Soar stamp sets.

I stamped the vine image from the Just Soar stamp set onto my card panel using my Misti.  Stamping it in rainbow order using some springy colors.

I then stamped the sentiment from the Abundantly Blessed Sentiments set right over the stamping in Midnight ink.  This is one of my favorite sentiments in this set!  I trimmed the panel down and adhered it to a piece of black card stock and then adhered that to my card base.

ABUNDANTLY BLESSED

Hi friends!  Happy Thursday!  I have another card to share today using the gorgeous Peony In Bloom Cover Plate Die & the Blessed word die.  For this card I die cut the Peony from a piece of white card stock and thankfully most of the pieces stayed in place after die cutting.  I turned my paper over while it was still between the cutting plates and then put some post it tape on the back to hold in the pieces of the flower and leaves.  I took out the outside pieces out, but saved them to glue back in later.

I did some ink blending on the flower.  I masked off the stem so I could sponge that in green.

After the ink blending was finished, I glued the piece onto my card base and glued in the white background pieces to make a flat card front.  I stamped and white heat embossed the abundantly sentiment from the Abundantly Blessed Sentiments stamp set and die cut the Blessed word die from black card stock and glued it onto my card.  I popped up the abundantly sentiment.  Another fun way to use this die.

COLOR HUES #14 - BLACK & WHITE

Hi friends!  Welcome to my post for Color Hues Challenge #14!  This time we are challenging you to use Black & White for your card or project.

I used the stunning On the Rocks slimline die for my white on white background to add some fun texture.  I then stamped and die cut the gorgeous butterflies from the Happy Butterflies stamp set and popped them up on my card for added dimension.

I stamped the sentiment from Magnetic Messages stamp set and trimmed around it using my scissors.  I left a white border this time.  Usually I trim it so there is no white showing, but I liked the white border on this one.

YOU ALWAYS MAKE ME SMILE

Hi friends!  Happy Sunday!  I've got another easy to mass produce card using the Peony Cover Plate Die.  This time I added ink to the die before I sandwiched it between my embossing pads and regular pads for my big shot.  This added ink to the parts of the die that originally cut the paper, but because I used an embossing pad and the correct "sandwich" in my Big Shot, it embossed the design.  I love this effect on cards.  I'm pretty sure I learned this from watching Jennifer McGuire and she had a name for this technique, but I can't remember what she called it. 

The sentiment is from Magnetic Messages stamp set.  I added some Crater Lake Sequins and some black and white twine to finish off this card.

WHEN ALL ELSE FAILS...GOD DOESN'T

Hi friends!  Happy Thursday!  I've got another card to share today using the gorgeous Peony In Bloom Cover Plate die.  I did some watercoloring on the background with Catherine's inks.  Love using Catherine's inks for watercoloring.

I embossed the Peony In Bloom Cover Plate die using Halo embossing glitter.  It's so hard to capture the shine from the glitter in my photos,  but in real life it sparkles.  The sentiment from the Abundantly Blessed Sentiments stamp set is one of my favorites.  I would have bought this set just for this sentiment.  I embossed it in white onto black and trimmed it out and glued it on my card.
