March Birthday

Hi everyone!
I needed some birthday cards for family and friends with March birthdays.
I love these sentiment stamps by Papertrey Ink.  I used the fun colors from Colour Me!

I was able to create 4 of these.  Here is another one with the sentiment embossed in white on black:

Isn't this die from Lil' Inker Designs the best?!  I LOVE it!!!

Coffee Lovers Spring Hop

Hi everyone!
I am participating in the Coffee Lovers Spring Hop.

I am not a coffee drinker but do love some tea and this set by Verve is one of my favorites.  I wanted some spring colors to use for my DSP and this pack was just perfect.  It is International Bazaar by SU!

I loosely followed the sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches.

Here is a second card using the same supplies.

Enjoy the hop!
Special thanks to Amy Tsuruta for setting up such a fun event!
Thank you for visiting and have a great day!

Stamps:  One Cup (Verve)
Paper:  International Bazaar (SU)

Get crafty with Kraft

Hi everyone!
I am playing along with Simon Says Stamp Flickr challenge.
This week SSS has teamed up with Lawn Fawn to do a Flickr Co-challenge.

The theme this week is “Get Crafty with Kraft.”  I used the shadow stamping technique on the flower by Hero Arts.  Stamping first in white ink then using yellow on the flower and green on the stem.  My sentiment from Simon Says Stamp was stamped using Early Espresso ink. The linen thread bow adds a little bit of an extra touch to finish off my card.

I am also adding this to the Hero Arts: Nature challenge.

I am also adding this to Simon Says Stamp: Work it Wednesday!

Thank you for visiting and have a great day!

Stamps:  Blessed (Simon Says Stamp)
Ink:  Fresh Snow, New Leaf (PTI), Early Espresso, Daffodil Delight
Paper:  Kraft (SU)
Accessories:  Linen Thread

Papertrey Ink Blog Hop

Hi everyone!
I am sharing my card for this month's Papertrey Ink Blog hop.

Here is the gorgeous inspiration piece..

And here is my card:

I smooshed my distress inks onto my craft sheet, spritzed with water then dipped my watercolor paper in to move the colors around.  I dried with my heat tool and then dipped back into the colors for added textures.  I embossed the sentiment and tiny hearts from the same set, using Liquid Platinum embossing powder.  These cards are so fun to make because you could never get the same background twice.  Even if you used the same colors you would get a different look each time.

Thank you for visiting and have a great day!

Stamps:  Big Hugs (PTI)
Accessories:  Quatrefoil cover plate (PTI)

No matter the weather...

Hi everyone!

Have you seen my friend Maureen's, Throwback Thursday posts on the Wplus9 blog?  If you haven't you need to check them out.  Maureen posts three cards using the same basic layout and design elements and a "throwback"  stamp set on the third Thursday of each month.   This feature has been turned into a challenge and I couldn't wait to play along.  I am a HUGE fan of Maureen's work.  We were to use an older Wplus9 set and use any of Maureen's cards as inspiration.  I was inspired by her layout and the use of silhouette images.

For my card I used a technique we featured in Technique Toolbox, Creative ways to use dye ink pads: Direct to paper.  I used PTI inks in Aqua Mist, Hawaiian Shores and Tropical Teal.  I used the set Pretty Patches: Umbrella and matching die.   The sweet little heart by the sentiment is from the new set, Sending Sunshine.

To learn more on dye inks and lessons on the Direct to paper technique, join us in our new class,

Sign up by tomorrow and you'll receive a free bonus!!!  I promise, this alone is worth the price of the class!

My next card was also inspired by Maureen.  This time it was her card that she featured in her latest video in The Classroom on StampNation.  Her lesson was on Inspiration, Movement & flow.  Though I didn't follow her lesson, I was inspired by the circle element and colors on her card.

StampNation members can click here to see the video and lesson.

I followed the sketch at The Paper Players.

Thank you for visiting and have a great day!

Merry Monday #147

Hi everyone!
Time for another Merry Monday Challenge.
This week Bonnie challenges us to use Stars on our Christmas card.

I used a star stencil with some gold spray mist to created the background.  I added some gold star sequins from Pretty Pink Posh to fill in and layered my sentiment die 4 times to add dimension.

Adding this over at Christmas Card Challenges.

Make sure you check out the other DT members cards over at the Merry Monday challenge blog.

Thank you for visiting and have a great day!
