THINKING OF YOU

Hi everyone!  I was inspired by the sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches for my card today.  I adhered a piece of Black Tie Gala patterned paper on my card base and then die cut the stitched rectangle using the Postage Stamp dies from Catherine Pooler.  I stamped the sentiment from Simon Says Stamp onto the rectangle and then worked on the butterflies.

I stamped in Midnight ink and then clear embossed them for some shine.  I used some Copics to give them some color.  I love how the top butterfly looks like its trail is the word Thinking.  These butterflies are from Catherine's Happy Butterflies set.  I've had this set for a while now and just inked it up for the first time and I am in love!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Hi friends!  Happy Thursday!  I am in need of more birthday cards so I pulled out some fun products from Catherine and went to work.  I followed the sketch over at The Paper Players.

While I had my supplies out I created two cards just switching up the background color and cake color.

I think I am drawn to the Cummerbund background and yellow cake.  Which one do you like better?

HIP HEARTS BIRTHDAY & A GIVEAWAY!!!

Hi friends!  Happy Wednesday!  I've got a fun birthday card to share with you all today using Catherine's new Date Night inks!  One of the reasons I LOVE Catherine's inks is the solid, smooth images you get each and every time you stamp.  Especially on these solid images I used on my card today.  With the foam pads, two or three LOVE TAPS are all you need to get full coverage on your stamp that transfers beautifully to your paper.

Another property I love about Catherine's inks is they are free of color transfers.  You can feel safe stamping light colors after dark colors. If your stamp stamps clean on scratch paper, then no color will transfer!  I definitely had this problem with other inks, especially if I used black and then tried to use yellow.  I would get a muddy yellow.

HAVE A GREAT DAY & INSTAGRAM GIVEAWAY

Hi friends!  Today's card uses 2 of Catherine's new ink colors from the Date Night collection.  Pucker Up & Chiffon.  I absolutely love the color these two inks create when overlapped.  It's such a soft orange color that is beautiful.

To create my card I masked off the stripes and blended the colors onto each stripe.  After the ink blending was finished I stamped the gorgeous bloom from the One in a Million Mom Floral stamp set.  I then stamped the sentiment from the Thoughtful Phrases stamp set.  I adhered the stamped and ink blended panel onto a white card base and this card is finished.

LOVE

Hi friends!  Happy Sunday!  I've got a fun Valentine's Day card or any day card to share with you today using the amazing Love in Heart die and Cummerbund embossing powder.  I die cut the die from white card stock and used embossing ink on the inside piece and covered it with the Cummerbund embossing powder and heat set it.  I layered the embossed piece onto the scallop die cut and adhered that to a piece of Little Black Dress slimline paper.

The white heat embossed sentiment is from the Sincere Thanks sentiment stamp set.  I love how this pops against the black and white polka dot background.

THANKS

Hi friends!  Happy Friday!  I've got a couple thank you cards using the Deco Thanks die and the Classy Trims stamp set.  These are great masculine cards.

On this card I stamped the classy trims stamp at an angle across the bottom of my card piece, colored it in with Copics and then fussy cut the bottom.  I die cut the Deco thanks die after using my gray copics to shade a strip of card stock.  I love the gradient look this gave the die cut.  I then die cut the die again using another strip of card stock colored with a blue/teal copic marker.

On the second card, I used the leftovers from the first card and just stamped the classy trims stamp directly onto the card base.  The sentiments were stamped and white heat embossed onto a strip of black card stock and attached to the card.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY WITH DOTTED BURSTS BACKGROUND STAMP

Hi friends!  Happy Wednesday!  Today's cards were inspired by Jennifer McGuire.  I stamped the Dotted Bursts background stamp using Midnight ink onto my white card stock using my MISTI.  I set that aside and cut strips of colored card stock in rainbow order.  I adhered the strips to a piece of copy paper the same size as my card base.  After adhering the strips, I stamped the Dotted Bursts background onto the strips using Embossing ink and then I clear heat embossed.

I then trimmed the pieces of copy paper that were to the sides of the stripes and adhered it to the center of my Midnight stamped panel lining up the bursts.  I white heat embossed a sentiment from Happy Birthday many ways stamp set and adhered that to my card front.

Here's another one using blues & purples & white heat embossing on the stripes.

I created this card the same way as mentioned above.

COLOR HUES #10-NAVY & CREAM

Hi friends!  Welcome to my post for Color Hues Challenge #10! This time we are challenging you to use Navy & Cream for your card or project.

Unfortunately, I've needed some more sympathy cards and this is a great color combo for those cards.  I stamped the background stamp from My Favorite Things onto a Very Vanilla Card base.  I then die cut a rectangle from the center of another piece of Vanilla card stock to create a window.

I die cut the leaf from the Perfect Vines Die by Catherine and tucked it into the side of the opening.

To add a bit of texture to the die cut, I stenciled some circles using Juniper Mist ink.  The sentiment is from Thoughtful Phrases.

I hope you'll be sure to check out the fabulous designs from the team & play along with us

THANKS

Hi friends!  I've got another slimline card today using the new embossing glitters that are in Catherine's shop.  They coordinate with the new ink colors, Chiffon, In the Park & Cummerbund.  I used the new Heart Trio slimline die and just used the hearts.

For these hearts, I inked them up with embossing ink and then sprinkled and heat set.  You could also use the ink colors to color your hearts first and then use the embossing powders.  You get a slightly different look when you do that.  I used the Deco Thanks die and the sentiment from the Sincere Thanks stamp set.  The background paper is from the Little Black Dress Slimline paper pack.
