Holiday II Essentials by Ellen Release Hop!


Hello, and welcome to the Essentials By Ellen Holiday II Release Hop!  I'm so excited to be showcasing several of the new stamp sets and dies on my post today!  If you are following along with the hop, you should have come from the talented May Flaum's blog. 


My first card today features the new Gourd-jus dies.
 

I had so much fun using Orange color bursts to create my background design.  The pumpkin is ONE of the many dies included in the collection and I wanted it to take center stage on my card.  I cut it out using Black glitter paper.   I trimmed the main panel to leave room for my sentiment from Autumn Acorns.

Next up is Christmas Scribbles Stamps and Christmas Scribbles Dies.



I love the look of these line art images, they are perfect for coloring.  I am not a great colorer but these images are easy to color with Zig Clear Color Markers.  I was playing around with many of the stamps and dies in the set but finally decided on using the mittens.  I stamped the images then die cut each one out of water color paper and used my Zig Clean Color markers to color them.  The sentiment and little hearts stamped on each mitten is from Cozy Christmas.

    These are such cute cards. Your mittens card brought back such fun memories of me growing up in New England. I am the youngest of 6 kids and there were always lots and lots of mittens, scarfs and boots drying by the fire. Thanks for sharing your fun ideas!!

    Love your cards, Kristie. I especially like the mitten card. At first, I thought, no way would I be fussy cutting that many mittens - even if they are super cute. However, once I realized that it was a die - hmmmm, maybe!
