Hi everyone! Welcome to the Zen Garden Ink Release Blog Hop Day 4! You should have arrived here from Josephine's blog. If you started on my blog, the complete hop list is below.
My first two cards feature the amazing Stained Glass Cover plate!
I decided I only wanted to use a section of the die and the circle in the center was the perfect part to use on my Clean & Simple card.
I stared by sponging ink onto a piece of card stock in a circular pattern until I got the blend and enough of the paper colored to die cut the cover plate and have the "circle" all colored. I used the template of another piece of card stock that was cut using the cover plate as a guide to adhere the little bits and pieces. As you can see in the close-up below I adhered some of them using dimensional adhesive and some flat using liquid glue.
I stamped and white heat embossed a sentiment from the Love Grows stamp set onto black card stock and attached it to the center of the circle. I added a few sequins and some black & white twine to finish off my card.
For this card I used part of the cover plate - that amazing center circle - as a stencil. I placed the circle piece onto my card panel at the top corner and masked off all around the outside edge to ensure I only sponged on the inside of the circle. I used all the new ink colors on this card in rainbow order. The smile die was die cut using black card stock and the coordinating sentiment was stamped above. Black & White twine finishes off this card.
My next card features the Faithful Flutterings stamp set.
I stamped the chevron in two different colors and then stamped the small butterfly from the Faithful Fluttering stamp set in the upper center of the chevron. I love that you can see the chevron image through the wings. I did create a set of these cards using different colors of ink.
Here are the three I created!
Each one uses a different sentiment from the set. These will be great to have on hand.
Comment to WIN!!!!
Before you go make sure you comment on each stop along the hop. Catherine will randomly pick two winners on each blog hop day, who will each win a complete set of Zen Garden Inks or a $45 Gift Certificate if you already have the inks.

ReplyDeleteGreat cards, Kelly. I always look forward to see what you will create and you never disappoint. Lovely use of the die and stamp sets.
ReplyDeleteLovely uses of the circles inherent in the coverplate. I especially like the one that has some parts popped up and some flat. That's so fun visually and tactile-y (is that a word? Hopefully you know what I mean). I also like how you can see the chevrons through the light color of the butterfly wins, but not through the darker parts; it makes them look like real, translucent butterfly wings! Thanks for sharing with us.
