Box card for Wplus9 Birthday celebration

Hi friends!  I am participating in this week's challenge Birthday Celebration at Wplus9.  This week Dawn wants us to "stretch it" and make something outside of our comfort zones.  If you visit my blog often you know I like to make Clean & Simple cards.

I have seen these cute box cards all over blog land and have been wanting to make one.  They seemed too complicated and I thought they would take too long to put together.  Surprisingly, this was pretty easy to do.  It does take some time though.  I love that these fold and fit into a reg. size envelope.  I used my color coach for the color combo.

I thought this would be a perfect card to send to a new mom.  :)

Check out my Stamps for Sale page here.

Thank you for visiting and have a great day!

Cardstock:  Tempting turquoise, Whisper white
Ink:  Tempting turquoise, Real red, Tangerine Tango

  5. Are you kidding me?! This is awesome! I've been intimidated by these exploding boxes, but if you say it's do-able I just might give it a try. Love those little hearts popping out of the box. They look like they're floating.

  6. Hey Kristie! Thanks for enlightening me! I must me living under a really big rock cuz I have never seen a box card! And it seriously folds down to fit into an envelope?

I love these colors together...which also makes me think that it is time to pull out my color coach from wherever it is that I have put it!!! Polka dots and stripes - my absolute favorite.

Awesome, awesome creation Krisite! I can just image how thrilled the mama of a new wee one would be when she opens up the envelope and reveals this treasure!

Now I'm off to search out a box card tutorial! Have a great weekend :)

  19. This is such a fun idea. It looks great! I made an exploding box once for a wedding to hold a gift card,it was a lot of work, and I've never done it again. But I like the idea of a more simple card box like this one. So much more interesting and fun than a card.
