I don't have this fun set (yet) so I used my favorite set from Avery Elle, Rounded Diamonds and matching dies. There are so many fun things you can do with these dies. I stamped the sentiment on the Pool Party cardstock then lined up the white strips on scrap paper and stamped the sentiment over them. I then layered the strips onto the pool party cardstock. I saw this technique on Laura Bassen's blog. The idea for the cute little thread behind the heart came from Laura too! Thank you, Laura!!!!

ReplyDeleteThis is so beautiful :) love that color
ReplyDeleteThis is so elegant and PRETTY! Love the special techniques, i.e. stamping on the strips and layering them on the sentiment, and that little thread is the PERFECT touch of texture! Mwah!
ReplyDeleteAnother masterpiece Krisite! These colors are gorgeous....and your sentiment treatment is absolutely perfect! I love the wee 'nest' (as Bev from Happy Dance calls it) of thread (and yes, Laura is amazing !!!!) that surrounds the heart. Now, if someone told me to use a black heart on a card, I would liley have rolled my eyes and thought...yeah right! BUT...YEAH RIGHT is perfect cuz this looks amazing - the contrast is so striking and combined with the black ink of the sentiment, creates perfect balance and harmony in your smashing design!
ReplyDeleteIf it is okay with you, I would love to CASE your design & colors for our daughter's birthday card...she loves this color :)
You pulled so many elements to make this fabulous card. The sentiment stamping is a technique I want to try, as well as the thread nest.
ReplyDeleteLove this Kristie, super sweet!
ReplyDeleteHow cool, you even used the Avery Elle colors!!! Love your stamping across the stripes. And the flower coming off your panel, but still on the card, is really interesting. Gorgeous, Kristie!
