Happy Friday friends! It has been a little while since I played along with the Merry Monday challenge but when I saw this week's sketch an idea popped into my head. The sketch is perfect for this Jingle bell die from Lil' Inkers. I like how this turned out but don't love it. Anyone ever feel that way about some of their cards?
Here is the sketch:
Thank you for visiting and have a great day!
Cardstock: Whisper white, Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive, Baked Brown sugar, Crumb cake, Choc. chip
Ink: Early Espresso
Stamps: Petite pairs
Accessories: Jingle Bell die (Lil' Inkers), Chevron cover plate (PTI), Baker's twine
This is terrific :)
ReplyDeleteLove it! The zig zag on the bottom adds just the right amount without being overwhelming. It is a bummer when you don't love a card. The last couple of mine fell into that category and I ended up changing them before posting. I figured if the changes didn't work out then at least I had the original photo : )
ReplyDeleteThis is perfect, what is there to not love about it?? The partial embossing and strung jingle bells are simply adorable. Perhaps a brighter color combo would make you happier?
ReplyDeleteThis is cute, Kristie. I think as cardmakers- we see our creations differently than others and feel not so crazy about something when to others it is fresh and new. I love the embossing, it adds just the right amount of background texture for the jingle bells. I do like your colors for sure and think silver and blue would be awesome with the white;)
ReplyDeleteLove this so much, Kristie! What a crisp and fun Christmas card!! Thanks for joining us at Merry Monday!
ReplyDeleteLove you clean and simple design Kristie, fantastic Christmas card. Thanks for joining us this week at Merry Monday.
ReplyDeleteThis is a wonderful card Kristie! Loving the dry embossed chevrons. I sometimes feel that way about my cards too. Often the ones I'm not crazy about are the ones that get the most comments. Artwork can be so subjective.
ReplyDeleteMy mom used to hang bells from her mantel and this reminds me of that! A perfect embossing folder! Thanks for sharing this with us at Merry Monday!
ReplyDeleteOh, my gosh, yes, often! This one you should love, however! I think you have achieved that elusive balance between elegance and whimsy! I love it!
ReplyDelete(Thank you, Kristie, for your sweet get well wishes! I'm taking it easy and only making cards and blog visits. Mister is waiting on me hand and foot! Hugs, Darnell)
So simple and clean yet totally festive!!
