September birthday and Big Shot woes
Hi friends! Happy Friday to you. I am starting with my card for this post. I know you will all totally understand my Big Shot woes in the next photo. I have lots of friends with Sept. birthdays (me included) so I decided to make a few CAS cards. I was totally inspired by Maile's card here.
The StampNation Dream Team was spoiled recently by IMAGINE Crafts/Tsukineko. They sent us a huge box of goodies to play with. I absolutely LOVE the Kaleidacolor ink pads. These are the most amazing ink pads ever. The great thing about these ink pads is you can use them separately or push them altogether. I used the Tomato Vine for my leaf and "September". Pretty cool right?! Have you tried any of these ink pads? I highly recommend them.
Now onto my Big shot woes....:(
If you follow me on Instagram you saw that I posted a picture similar to this there. This is the sad state of my Big Shot. About 2 weeks ago it started getting really hard to turn the handle. I had to use all my strength to get something cut. Not good. I decided to take it apart to see what was going on and to see if I could fix it. I have some parts on order that will hopefully keep it working for a bit longer. I have had it for about 5 years. If the parts don't work I will have to buy a new one.
How much do you use your Big Shot? I didn't realize just how much I use mine until I couldn't use it. This is one reason I made the card above, no need for my Big Shot.
Thank you for visiting and have a great weekend!

First, gorgeous card Kristie! Love those colors. And your poor, poor BS!!! I love mine, and use it all the time too! While I adore my Cameo, sometimes it's just nicer to pop over to the BS. And, I've always said the best people were born in September!!!! ; ) Have a great weekend, and I hope that your parts come and the BS is as good as new! Bev
ReplyDeleteYour card is gorgeous Kristie. I used to have some of those fun pads but then donated them several years ago. I'm thinking I might need to pick one up again.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry about your big shot woes. I hope you can get the parts you need and get it put back together correctly.

Oh I love your card...the colors are so rich and stunning. And oh my word...your big shot. Holy moly. I would be so bummed out!
ReplyDeleteSimply beautiful, Kristie!
ReplyDeleteLOVE your card Kristie, and Maile's too, just simply beautiful. I have kaleidacolor stamp pads stacked among my stamp pads and until I saw this post and CP's recent KISS card post, I'd just been passing them by while choosing stamp colors, duh! Thanks to you both, I will begin using them again. My Big Shot and my heat gun are the two tools I keep out all the time as I always seem to use them at some point in making a card. Kudos to you for taking your Big Shot apart to try and fix it, good luck! Thanks again for all your creative inspiration.
ReplyDeleteOh girl you have to get a new Big Shot! I used mine several times every day. I wouldn't know what to do without it! Your card is SO pretty!!! Wow!! That multi colored leaf is just gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful September/Fall card, Kristie. So CAS and colorful. I'm sorry about the death of your Big Shot. I hope you can revive it. I know I'd be lost without my Cuttlebug.
ReplyDeleteWow, this is a stunning CAS card Kristie! I'm sorry to hear about your Big Shot woos, not fun when something doesn't work right. I really hope your pieces that you ordered fixes the problem. Hugs, Brenda

ReplyDeleteBeautiful CAS card. I feel your pain with the Big Shot. Mine is also 5 years old and I've had problems with it for about a year. I use mine A LOT! With mine, I noticed not all my embossing folder was actually embossing around the sides. And, it won't cut through anything but paper now. I contacted Sizzix and they sent me a pdf file on how to take apart the Big Shot and check the ballbearings inside. They said the ballbearings may be worn out. I haven't taken mine apart yet for fear I cant' get it back together. So I just run things through it numerous times. I do know that Amazon has a Big Shot for under $99. If mine gets worse, that's the route I'm taking.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous CAS perfection.
ReplyDeleteAnd a tragedy about the Big Shot! I'm so afraid of the day my Cuttlebug dies on me because it will take ages to get a new one here. Hope the new parts work for you!
What a darling card, Kristie! Beautifully stamped!
ReplyDeleteOH, your Big Shot photo sure made me chuckle! I hope you are successful in putting it back together.
I've had mine for years, and I use it ALL the time. When I saw a good sale on it, I purchased a second one, because I would hate to be without my Big Shot.
Best wishes to you!
Yikes!! I use my Big Shot all the time. I don't know what I did before I bought mine. I hope the parts you are replacing work well when you get it put back together.
