Hi friends. I am back sharing another Christmas card I made for Merry Monday. This week's challenge is to use snowflakes, blue, white, silver/gray. It is hard to see in the photo but I used Iridescent Ice embossing powder on the snowflake piece after I die cut it using the Deco labels. I also used the thumping technique on the snowflake, can you see it?
I was also inspired by my friend, Catherine's KISS card she made the other day. She has done quite a few KISS (Keep It Simple Stamper) cards and I just love them especially for mass producing Christmas cards. I whipped up 4 of these cards in no time. It would have been even quicker had I skipped the Iridescent ice embossing powder step. Thank you for the inspiration, Catherine.
I am also entering this over at 52 {Christmas} card throwdown ~ they are asking for Christmas cards using anything but red and green & Simon Says Wednesday challenge ~ they are asking for Christmas/Holiday.
Here is the first design I tried. I like this one but don't love it. :)
Thank you for visiting and have a great day!
Cardstock: Whisper White, silver glimmer paper
Ink: Island Indigo, Versamark, Pool Party
Stamps: Snowflake Soiree, Grand Ampersand
Accessories: Iridescent Ice Embossing powder, Rhinestone, deco labels, Winter Frost DSP
Cardstock: Smoky slate
Ink: Island Indigo, Versamark
Stamps: Snowflake Splendor (MFT), Petite Pairs
Accessories: white embossing powder, Rhinestone, Winter Frost DSP
both are beautiful... but the first does have a little bit more "wow" factor!
ReplyDeleteI love them both, Kristie but the 2nd is actually my favourite!! Such pretty cards and colours!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat cards Kristie! I love both of them! A few subtle changes creates such a different 'feel' between the two. The CAS design of the bottom card really seems to make the embossed snowflake pop, whereas the Iridescent Ice EP on white CS creats a more formal and elegant look.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous colors scheme!
What beautiful cards and colours Kristie!
ReplyDeleteI think both cards are just lovely, but I think the white background is a bit brighter! I adore snowflakes of all kinds - so long as they are on a card and not in the street ;) Thanks so much for playing along with 52CCT this week!
ReplyDeleteHi Kristie. Two fabulous cards. Love the iridescent ice embossing powder - it adds so much sparkle and a bit of color too! Both cards are wonderful, but my favorite is the second one done on the gray card base ... the white snowflake really grabs your eye when you see the card. Thanks for joining us at Merry Monday. Loll xx
ReplyDeleteThey're both fabulous, Kristie ... the first has pazazz, the second has elegance! Anita :)

ReplyDeleteBoth cards are beautiful but I like the first the best...the white background makes it cleaner and brighter to me! And I love your use of the Pool Party color in this card and your merry & bright sentiment! :0)

ReplyDeleteTwo really lovely Christmas cards. To find either in a mailbox would surely be a delight. Each is delightful, and has its own 'feel', but I a bit partial to the gray one. Really gorgeous. Bev
