ShowCASe your Style challenge #12: Sketch

Hi everyone!
Time for another challenge at showCASe your style.

This week is a sketch challenge.

Here is how I was inspired:

I chose to use three penguins instead of squares but still followed the sketch.  I just love these penguins and couldn't resist having the middle one holding balloons.  The hillside was cut using the Stitched Border dies trio and the sentiment was stamped after I colored each letter with my SU! markers.  I like that it didn't stamp a solid image and looks kind of sketchy but still readable.  The stamp is polka dotted anyway so it looks really cool.

We'd love to see your card inspired by the sketch!
Thank you for visiting and have a great day!

Stamps:  Happy Everything, Penguin Fun (Whimsy Stamps)
Ink:  Versafine Black
Paper:  Neenah Solar White, Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, New Leaf, Tempting Turquoise, Rich Razzleberry, Soft Stone Polka dot paper (PTI)

Make it Monday #207: Double Partial Die Cutting

Hi everyone!
I am playing along with Papertrey Ink's Make It Monday: Double Partial Die Cutting.  I love this technique and the results you get.  I do have to admit I am terrible at cutting a straight line with my X-Acto knife.  I just can't get it straight even when I use a ruler.  Ugh!  I added the twine to cover up the horrible mess I created with my cutting.  Laura makes it look so easy.

Here is the first card I made but wasn't happy with it.  I am sharing anyway.  After I created this one I thought of a cross die.  Hmmm, another card?!

I was inspired by Maureen's first card and used the sketch.  I also used similar colors but used a different stamp set, Pretty Patches: Tree with matching die.

I am also adding the Christmas card to Christmas Card Challenges: Anything Goes.

Thank you for visiting and have a great day!

Light It Up Blue For Autism Awareness Blog Hop!

Hello and welcome to the Light It Up Blue For Autism Awareness Blog Hop!  I am excited to be joining in this hop to bring Autism Awareness.   I wanted to take part because I have friends whose children have autism and also to support some crafty friends whose lives have been touched by it. I think more information and awareness about autism will benefit everyone. If you would like to know more about it, please check out Autism Speaks.  There are so many fantastic sponsors that have shown their support for Autism Awareness.  You can see the complete list HERE.

If you would like a chance to win a prize from one of these fabulous companies leave a comment on this blog, and/or any of the other blogs participating in today's hop! Winners will be chosen at random and will be announced on Monday, April 6.

Now here is the card I created for today's hop!

I used my MISTI and this technique, the amazing Laurie shared on her blog.  I tweaked it up just a bit, I don't have a matching stamp for the die I used but having it one color works perfectly too!   I was able to mass produce this card in no time using different color flowers on each card.

Enjoy the hop and thank you for visiting!
Have a great day!

The Card Concept #32

Hi friends!
It is time for another fabulous challenge at The Card Concept!

This week we hope you are inspired by the photo and colors below.

I was inspired by the gorgeous flower that is front and center in the vase.  I used the awesome stamp set Hennah Elements to create my Clean & Simple card.  I stamped the flower using Versafine black ink onto Calypso Coral carstock and the leaves from the set onto Old Olive.  I fussy cut them out and added them to my card.  The sentiment and the swirls on the card base are also from the same set.

Stop over to The Card Concept blog to see what the other girls have created in all of the different styles.  I just love this challenge just for this reason!  It's great to see all the different takes on one inspiration photo.

I am adding this over at CASology too.

Thanks so much for stopping in!  I hope you get the chance to play along too!
