His & Hers day 1 homework

Hi friends.  I decided to take the online class called His & Hers.  I really enjoyed the Patterned Play online class as well.  For yesterday's homework we were to make a female card and a masculine card.  I decided to use the same sketch for both of my cards.  Here is my female card:

I used the colors for Dynamic Duos this week.

My masculine card:

I couldn't decide WHAT to put up at the top of the masculine card so I left it alone.  Do you think it needs something?  I tried just wrapping black ribbon around the top but that didn't look right.  Let me know what you think.

I am also entering in the Simon Says - Anything Goes.

Thank you for visiting and have a great day!

Happy Birthday

Hi friends.  Sorry for being quite here.  I have been in a creative slump lately.  I think it is spring fever.  We have been having some beautiful spring weather here in NH (finally) and I want to take advantage of it.  Also, I home school our 4 children so that has been taking up some of my time as well.  Evaluations are coming up.  YIKES!  :)  Here is my card for Seize the Birthday:

Here is the sketch I followed and this week it was a masculine card:

I am also entering this at Simon Says: Anything goes and CAS-ual Fridays: Birthday.

Wish big!

Hi friends.  I think I spoke too soon about spring being here, we had a few snow flurries yesterday morning and even though the sun was shining it was cold.  It will be here to stay soon though.  I was inspired by The Play Date Cafe colors and photos.  I love these colors together so I just had to play along.  My card kind of came out the way I envisioned.  Here it is:

Here is the inspiration:

I was inspired by the colorful diamonds on the bottom.  I am also entering this card at Cas-ual Fridays where the theme is birthday.  Happy Birthday Michelle!!!

Thank you for visiting and have a great day!

Sweet baby & Blues & green

Happy Saturday friends.  I hope you are all enjoying your day so far.  It looks like it is going to be another warm day up here in NH!  Yay, I think spring has finally arrived.  Today I am sharing a couple of cards with you that I made for the most recent StampNation challenges.  My first card was made for the challenge "Getting Sentimental" - we were to use more than one stamp set to build our sentiment.  Here is my card:

I used 3 different stamp sets, the "Welcome" is from Stacks of Wishes by Stampin' Up!  The "Sweet" is from Celebrate by Avery Elle and the "Baby" is from Sweet Baby by Papertrey Ink.  My second card is for a color challenge - Use white with shades of blues and greens.  Here is my card:

CAS(E) this Sketch #24

Happy Friday friends!  I am sharing a card with you today that was inspired by CAS(E) this Sketch and also a new technique I learned at our StampNation LIVE retreat - stamping gradient colors.  Maureen taught this technique and I finally got around to trying it out.  I LOVE the result.  Thanks for sharing Maureen.  Here is the sketch:

The weather is beautiful here in Northern NH, finally feeling like spring so, I am headed outside to enjoy it.  Thank you for visiting and have a great day!

Merry Monday #58

Hi friends.  Today's card was inspired by Merry Monday challenge.  I had been drawing a blank on the sketch for this week but it finally came to me this morning.  It is hard to tell in the photograph but I used versamark on the vanilla layer and then Iridescent Ice Embossing powder over the whole thing.  It sure does sparkle in real life.   Here is the sketch:

YOU are loved!

Hi friends.  Today's card is for a few challenges.  The first is Runway Inspired Challenge.  Here is the photo inspiration:

I took my inspiration from her dress and was drawn to the black flowers flowing up one side.  I was also inspired by her bright, red, shiny lipstick and just had to add that element to my card too.  I die cut the You die from Simon Says Stamp from Real Red cardstock and then covered it in versamark, heat embossed with clear embossing powder to give it the shine.  I got my inspiration for that technique from Ashley over at PTI blog.  Here is the link to her video.

I am also entering this card in CASology's cue card challenge.  The cue card is:

Thank you for visiting and have a great day!

Cardstock:  Whisper White, Real Red, Black
Ink:  Memento black. versamark
Stamps:  Expressions for you (Simon Says Stamp)

CFC97 & Trends article sample

Hi friends.  Today's card is a card I made for my most recent Trends Article featuring Vellum on StampNation.  The article was posted today and it just so happens that the challenge at CAS-ual Fridays is Chevrons and flowers.  For my flower I used the Stained Glass technique which I found here.  My card was inspired by both Catherine and Maureen's one layer cards on StampNation.  Maureen teaches in the CAS classroom and I have learned so much from her lessons, she recently taught us about White space & One layer cards.

This is a group photo of all the wonderful ladies that attended the StampNation LIVE retreat.  Can you find me?  :)

I am also entering this card over at Simon Says Stamp.  They are looking for April showers and/or Spring flowers.

Thank you for visiting and have a great day!

Cardstock:  Whisper White, vellum
Ink:  Versamark, Tempting turquoise, Memento black
Stamps:  Secret Garden, Beyond Plaid, Something to celebrate

Swap card

Hi friends.  I am popping in real quick to post my card I made for StampNation LIVE swap.  I had an AMAZING weekend with everyone and I miss everyone so much already.  I am very thankful that there are plans in the works for another retreat next year.  YAY!!!  Thank you Catherine for all your hard work in planning this retreat.

Here is a photo of  Maureen, Catherine & I.

I will be back later to post more photos of my trip.  I am so thankful for Clare's husband, Paul for being our "official" photographer for the weekend.  He took over 700 photos throughout the weekend and burned them onto CD's for us.  Awesome right?!

Thank you for visiting and have a great day!

Scoring challenge

Hi friends.  I am popping in with my card for the most recent challenge over at StampNation.  The challenge was to get out those scoring tools to put score lines on our cards. We could use one line to highlight or draw attention to our sentiment,  image or even make a frame or a background.

I used my score board to make a fun banner and (it is a little hard to see in the photo) but, there are score lines between each of the strips of cardstock that the birds are standing on.  :)

I am off to NC!  Thank you for visiting and have an amazing day!

Cardstock:  Whisper White, Rasp. Ripple, Calypso Coral, Island Indigo & Basic Gray
Ink:  Island Indigo, Calypso Coral, Basic Gray & Calypso Coral
Stamps:  Aviary

Seize the birthday (masculine)

Good morning friends.  A quick post for you today for the challenge at Seize the birthday.  This week is to make a masculine card using this sketch:

I changed the orientation to fit the birthday stamp and die.  I have been busy getting ready for a weekend away in Raleigh, NC.  I cannot tell you how excited I am to spend a weekend with some amazing sistahs!  I have "known" these friends for 2 years on StampNation and I finally get to meet some of them in person.  I sure wish that everyone could attend the retreat that is a member on SN but there are members from all over the world and the cost alone is too much.  :(  If I am a little quiet here on my blog you will know why.  :)  Have a wonderful day!
